Your Life’s Work Tarot Spread
Your life’s work is a vocation that you feel called to do like being a teacher or a writer. For me, that means being a tarot reader and astrologer. I created this spread about a year into having my own business doing just that. It was a time (middle of Venus Retrograde) when I felt disheartened. Even though I love astrology and tarot, running a business is hard and I nearly felt like giving up. This spread was a reminder of why I chose to be an astrologer and a tarot reader. You can use it the same way or try it with two different options to explore which career path might be best for you.
1. What lights you up about this vocation? This is what you find exciting about doing this job, what makes feel you passionate about it.
2. What truly motivates you to do this as your life’s work? This is the driving force behind choosing this vocation.
3. What is special about you as a… (vocation name)? These are the traits that make you stand out from others like gentleness, understanding, or a creative eye.
4. What unique gift can you offer through this practice? This is what you can give/share with others through this work.
5. What does Spirit/your higher want you to know about this path? This could be advice, a concern, or a different way of looking at this path.
Career BlocksTarot Spread (Originally called the Artist’s Tarot Spread)
I created this spread with a client who is a singer but felt blocked from developing her career further. For her reading we did the spread by alternating pulling cards from two different decks. This spread can be done in the same way or with a single deck.
This spread is great to pair with the first spread, though I would recommend doing them at least a day apart to really let the messages of each come through.
1 & 2. What are the blockages to becoming the (vocation name here) you want to become? These are the things that are in your way, could things within the material realm like finances, living space, coworkers, or metal/emotional blocks like way of thinking or emotional patterns.
3 & 4. What can connect you to your solar energy more? Solar energy here refers to the energy of your Sun sign. This is a key into helping you live, grow, and develop as the vocation you desire to be and as a person.
5 & 6. How can you sustain yourself & your lifestyle so you can continue to do this? These are the things that will aid you in continuing to do your dream career.
