Scorpio, how often do you delve into the darkest parts of someone and make your bed there? Sleeping in their wounds, you feel as they do, all their sorrow, guilt, and shame. It’s a beautiful and painful intimacy.

Why is it that you rarely allow someone to do the same for you? What are you protecting?

Your card for your season is The Moon.

At first glance, two wolves snarl up at the sky, and at another, two dogs wag their tails as they beg for food. In the foreground, a crab hopes to scurry by without notice. In both scenes, this aquatic creature is vulnerable to attack, despite her hard shell and pincers. The moon above, not only illuminates her path but makes her visible to predators, just as it illuminates our hidden emotions, making our vulnerabilities visible to all.

Your loved ones and friends are not the snarling wolves of nightmares, they will not tear your tender heart apart in their teeth, yet you protect yourself all the same.

This season, with those who have entrusted you with their vulnerabilities, share something that frightens you to say aloud.

In sharing your pain with them, it won’t completely disappear, but you might find that it lessens and wanes, much like the face of the moon.

Author’s notes:

What lies above is written as I posted on my Instagram page. It’s sharp and quick, as little as someone can write with a Mercury in Sagittarius. But it’s far from the whole story. There’s a reason, as someone I met at a bar once said,“ Scorpio is Cancer in a leather jacket.” Meaning Scorpio parades around like they are tough as hell, but those tattoos up and down their arms come right off in the shower.

It’s not as simple as that but I understand their point. Underneath that stinger, Scorpio is a big baby. Though aren’t we all?

Above I write, “Your loved ones and friends are not the snarling wolves of nightmares, they will not tear your tender heart apart in their teeth, yet you protect yourself all the same.”

But that’s not completely true. There’s a reason Scorpio is always ready to strike. Someone has bitten into you and left you with a gaping hole. You’re certainly not stupid enough to let another person do that again, are you?

Yes, you are. Yes, I am too. Because yes, it’s necessary and part of life.

But LOOK, you could count the ways the circumstances are different across the lines in your hand. You’re older. You’re in another place. You’ve learned new ways of communicating. You’ve learned more about yourself. You’re not relying on this person to be your whole world.

And notice how I say to share “with those who have entrusted you with their vulnerabilities”. These are loved ones who have told you their secrets, their fears, and their dreams. They have cried on your shoulder and called you after a hard day.

These are people who are already holding their heart out to you, knowing that you could break it, but are choosing not to.
